Make water slide decals for slightly curved surfaces using this special decal paper and your color laser printer. To further soften and make this film even more workable you can use a heat gun, or even a domestic hair dryer.
When working with a slightly curved surface, where normal water slide decals would be likely to rip, stretch, or tear our soft formula color laser water slide decal paper provides that little extra bit of workability to make your decal a success. This decal film features a formula which is slightly thicker, softer, and more flexible to allow the decal film to be more forgiving of slightly curved surfaces. Please note that even this soft formula film can not adhere to heavily curved surfaces, textured surfaces, or dimpled surfaces. To make application even easier we recommend our ~Decal Mounting Fluid~ to lubricate the surface of the item to be decorated, allowing the decal to be more easily repositioned. Another essential tool for properly applying decals is a ~Rubber Decal Squeegee~ which allows for the complete removal of any excess water/mounting fluid and air bubbles trapped between the decal film and the surface of your item. If your item is a flat surface, and you desire a thinner film see our PAS4 ~Color Laser Water Slide Decal Paper~, however, this media will work on flat surfaces just as well as on curved substrates. If the surface you plan on decorating is not white, or a similar light color you may need our ~White Laser Water Slide Decal Paper~ to provide a white background to give contrast to the colors of your decal.


The Clear Decal Mounting Fluid is a Non Toxic Application Fluid.
 
The Clear Decal Mounting Fluid is a water based product designed especially for use with our water slide decal paper. This mounting fluid will improve the application process of the water slide decal especially when working with larger decals. Once applied the mounting fluid will make the substrate slippery and enable the decal to slide or move around freely to position it exactly where it goes. When dry, the mounting fluid also provides a strong bond between the decal and the substrate.
 
The Clear Decal Mounting fluid can also be applied to the top of the decal. It is important to use a rubber decal squeegee to remove any water, mounting fluid or air bubbles from the decal. The decal mounting fluid allows the rubber squeegee to move freely over the decal to prevent from tearing the decal by providing lubrication.
 
To ensure professional water slide decals, order the Decal Mounting Fluid and the Liquid Decal Fixative. Do not confuse the decal mounting fluid with the decal fixative. These are two different products. To read about the decal fixative click here.
 
Instructions.
Apply a few drops on top of the substrate to be decorated. Spread the fluid around with your fingers. Next apply the water slide decal in accordance with the instructions provided. Apply a few drops of the mounting fluid to the top of the decal. Now move the decal until it is correctly positioned, then with one stroke of the rubber squeegee you should be able to "freeze" the decal in place. Next use the squeegee (see image below) to remove the remaining water, fluid and air bubbles.
